Short version: the ChartBackgrounds extension collects nothing unless you choose to sign in as a founding member, and then only your email. The website only keeps the email you type into the early-access form.

The browser extension

• It runs only on tradingview.com pages and only changes how the chart background looks on your own screen.
• It does not read your symbols, orders, positions, drawings, account or browsing history.
• There are no analytics, trackers or ads. Using skins, Studio, Brand and My media sends nothing anywhere.
• Founding-member sign-in is optional. If you use it, the extension sends the email you type to our server, we email you a one-time code, and we check with Stripe whether that email has an active plan. The extension then keeps a sign-in token on your computer. We store your email, a scrambled (hashed) copy of the token and your plan status, and use them only to keep your Pro access on. Signing out deletes the token from your computer and cancels it on our side.
• Your settings (chosen skin, sliders, Sessions, Shuffle, Studio and Brand colors) are saved with Chrome's own storage. If you are signed in to Chrome with sync turned on, Chrome syncs them between your computers. We never see them.
• A video or image you add in My media, and a logo you add in Brand, are stored only on that computer, inside the extension. They are never uploaded.
• It never changes your TradingView settings or saved layouts. The only TradingView change it can make is switching to the dark theme, and only when you press that button.

The website

• If you join early access, we store your email address, which button you used, the page that sent you and your browser type. We use it only to email you about ChartBackgrounds.
• The list, and founding-member sign-ins, are stored with Supabase. Sign-in codes are emailed through Resend. It is never sold or shared.
• The site uses no cookies. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookie-free and does not track you across sites or collect personal data. Fonts load from Google Fonts.
• If you use the contact form, we keep your email, name (optional), message and, only if you leave the box ticked, basic browser details (browser, system, screen size, time zone), so we can reply and fix problems. Messages are emailed to us through Resend.
• If you buy a paid plan, payment is handled by Stripe. We receive your email, what you bought and when, but never your full card number.

Your choices

To have your email removed, or to ask anything about this policy, email [email protected]. Uninstalling the extension deletes everything it stored.
